Hairbrush Phone Case

I'm used to seeing strange products and beauty gadgets here in the Allure offices, and I'm all in favor of practical innovations that make lives and beauty routines easier. What I don't love, however, is when a brand invents a problem (ugh, beauty is SO HARD) and then tries to sell me something to fix it. Enter the YoBrush, a combination iPhone case and hair brush. The YoBrush snaps onto your phone like any other cover, but the back is covered in spiky plastic bristles so you can brush your hair on the go. Because, ladies, we are just too busy having it all to worry about protecting our phones AND having perfect hair at all times, am I right? I have some questions.
• The brand markets it as a "new way to reduce clutter in your purse and simplify your life," which begs the question: Is it really that difficult to squeeze your phone and a mini brush into your purse? And is a phone case with stabby prongs that poke into your hands every time you hold it really "simplifying" anything?
• Why is it called a YoBrush? Is that like "Yo, Brush!" like you're trying to get the brush's attention? Or is it supposed to be Spanish, as in I Brush? (But "brush" en Español is actually cepillo. Thanks, high school Spanish class!)
• Is there a way to use it and not look like a complete weirdo? (All photographic evidence points to no.)
• Brushes trap loose hairs when you use them. Does that mean you end up with a phone case covered in hair?
• If you are, in fact, intrigued by this concept, allow me to direct your attention to these many travel-friendly brushes, available here, here, here, and here. They fit in your clutch and will cause you exactly zero discomfort while you're texting/playing CandyCrush/selfie-ing.
YoBrush, you are an enigma.
This review is brought to you by Allure.
The Yobrush however, is not viewed so negatively by all. Many see it's practical uses as a multipurpose tool and appreciate the items design. The bristles are not hard and therefore do not cause the uncomfortable grip that is described above. If you are interested, I recommend that you try one for yourself.
I simply love it!! its such a weird and hostile way to express your biased opinion about this wonderful idea!!, I think that is great that someone thought about it and no one did it before!! wow! someone will love it. i leave in the beach my hair needs it and i think the name is very cool!,Why not, wow! hostility in the air!! you guys post it under Travel Beauty? Right? Beauty!!! great! where can i buy it?
ReplyDeleteI must agree with you that the review given by Allure was a bit harsh as I too see many uses for this case as it eliminates clutter with a convenient 2-in-1 tool. The only complaint I could see would be trying to stuff this thing in your pocket. Thanks for the comment!
ReplyDeleteHello, this unique and colorful phone case is not necessarily for everyday use, only for specific events, like an afternoon in the beach, a lunch in a motorcycle, going to nightclubs with a small purse, or travel, and its washable!!. thank you for the interest and the review. YoBrush
